Xi Chuan 西川, born in 1963, is a poet, essayist, and translator. His selected poems, Notes on the Mosquito (New Directions, 2012), translated by Lucas Klein, was shortlisted for the Best Translated Book Award in poetry and won the 2013 Lucien Stryk Prize for Asian poetry in translation. He currently teaches classical Chinese literature at the Central Academy for Fine Arts in Beijing. [ Translation]
