Amy Uyematsu
ImageAmy Uyematsu is a third-generation Japanese American poet and teacher from Los Angeles. She has three published collections: Stone Bow Prayer (Copper Canyon Press, 2005), Nights of Fire, Nights of Rain (Story Line Press, 1998), and 30 Miles from J-Town (Story Line, 1992). Winner of the 1992 Nicholas Roerich Prize, Amy was a co-editor of the widely-used Roots: An Asian American Reader (UCLA Asian American Studies Center, 1972) and poetry editor for Greenmakers: Japanese American Gardeners in Southern California (2001).
