Nadeem Zaman was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. At fifteen he moved with his family to Chicago. He studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently writing his doctoral dissertation in Fiction and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Louisville, which includes a novel set during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971.
