Danica van de Velde is an early-career researcher at the University of Western Australia where she completed her doctoral thesis on the representation of intimate space in the work of Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai. Her areas of specialisation are film studies and visual culture, with a specific focus on the intersections of urban space, architecture, memory and desire. Her work has recently been published in Representing 9/11: Trauma, Ideology, and Nationalism in Literature, Film and Television (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015) and Home: Concepts, Constructions, Contexts (WVT, 2016), as well as a variety of print and online publications.
