John Patrick Allanegui is a recipient of two national writing fellowships in creative nonfiction. His works have appeared in publications across the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States. He holds degrees from Ateneo de Davao University and Ateneo de Manila University, where he served as managing editor of Verstehen. His academic background in the social sciences and interest in creative writing have put him across a number of work, ranging from journalism to policy development and speechwriting in government.
