Lee Minh Sloca was born in Vietnam, from which he escaped two weeks prior to its collapse. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a major in Psychology. After college, he worked for fourteen years with special needs children in a variety of mental health and educational facilities. Seeking to expand his horizons, he shifted his focus to poetry and painting.
