Born in 1966, Yong Shu Hoong has published three books of poetry, including Frottage (2005), which won the Singapore Literature Prize in 2006. His poems have been included in literary journals, as well as anthologies like Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from the Middle East, Asia, and Beyond (W.W. Norton, 2008). A freelance journalist, he has written for publications like The Straits Times, My Paper and South China Morning Post. His soon-to-be-published collection of poems is entitled From within the Marrow.
