Shivani Sivagurunathan is a Malaysian writer who lectures at University Putra Malaysia. Her creative work has been published in numerous international magazines and journals. Her poetry chapbook, Chiaroscuro, published by Bedouin Books, came out in August 2010. Her short story "The Bat Whisperer" was published in the February 2011 issue of Cha. Both "Catching Iguanas" and "The Bat Whisperer" are from her short story collection, Wildlife on Coal Island, which came out in August 2011.
